Yamunotri

Gangotri

Kedarnath
Kedarnath is one of the twelve Jyotirlinga shrines, which is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is the northernmost of the Pancha Banang pilgrimage circuit and is situated in the Rudraprayag district of Uttarakhand. This Dham is situated at an altitude of 3,583 meters and is one of the most gripping and arduous experiences of Char Dham journey. The temple is tucked away at a relatively elevated altitude in the Himalayan region and it is quite rewarding to hike on the steep incline and sight-see the mountains as one arrives at the temple.
Stemming from Adi Shankaracharya, Char Dham Yatra is one of the significant aspects of Hindu culture and each year, several millions of followers embark on this pilgrimage. It is a faith that the yatra is capable to wash the sins of the devotees and make them closer to the divine.
The pilgrimage is done in anti-clockwise manner as it is considered that circulation around these sacred sites is beneficial. Badrinath is a shrine of Lord Vishnu and is a beautiful place which is supported by green hills. This yatra also takes one through other interesting places like the Tapt Kund, Bhim Pul and the Vyas Gufa. On the trek trail, devotees get to see other statues which are formed out of sheer worship and devotion like Mata Lakshmi and Lord Narayan. Typically, it is estimated that the yatra may extend for about 10-15 days. However, you may arrange for helicopter services in order to cut down the travel time.
